Is this Bedroom suite actually made by Amish in the USA?

Yes, it is handcrafted in Homes County Ohio by local Amish craftsmen who are passionate about building quality furniture.

 

Is this furniture made with real wood?

Yes, our furniture is made with local hardwoods. The Potomac set is crafted out of Cherry wood.  It's not Rustic Cherry with knots but neither is it Premium grade #1. It's called Sap Cherry, a mid-grade wood that gives the nice, warm, cherry patina. To be completely fair, we must mention that the backs of the furniture, drawer bottoms, and the undersides are built with a furniture grade plywood, but not anywhere it would be obvious and NEVER particle board!  Real wood. Real beauty.
 

How is this furniture finished?

Our furniture is finished with a conversion varnish. While it is tough (it can be dented or scratched), it is only as hard as the wood itself. It is designed to withstand moisture and light accidental spills. So treats it with respect and it will thank you with many years of outstanding service and beauty. 

 

Can I change the knobs?

Yes, you can. It's as simple as removing a screw and replacing it with the knob you choose. We recognize that there are many really cool knobs available and they can add a immense personal touch, but we are not going to do it for you. Universal knobs are part of our attempt to bring the best value to you.  Besides, you really want to shop for those unique knobs yourself. Go ahead and do it. You will enjoy the journey. Can I pick a different wood or a different stain?

The wood is not a option that we are willing to change. However, you can pick a different stain but, it will add extra lead time and will add a 5% upcharge.

 

Can I get a partial set?

While it would be awesome to send you a partial set, we will decline. It is necessary to sell a certain amount of furniture so the shipping cost do not get prohibitive. Maybe one of your family or friends could use an extra piece of furniture.

 

Could I get two beds or a extra chest so I can split a set and use it in 2 different rooms?

Absolutely, this makes great sense. Just reach out to us via email and tell us which pieces you'd like to add, and we'll give you a new quote.

 

Do you have a physical store and is this set on display?

Yes, we do have a brick and mortar store. Legacy Furniture is located in Hagerstown MD. If you are looking for a full service, custom Amish furniture store, Please come see us. But, this set is not on display. It was made especially for this website project and we have decided to only offer it here. 

 

What is the difference between driveway delivery and white glove delivery

Driveway delivery is where your Bedroom Suite in a Box is dropped off in your driveway. A handful of screws later and the crate is removed. You then cut the straps one at a time and move the furniture into your home (Hopefully friends and family are ready to help.) This is the most economical method of delivery. White glove delivery is delivered by a independent crew into your home and includes setup.

 

Can I buy this set if I live in the city or a apartment?

Here is where things get a little tricky. You will likely have to pick it up at a local trucking terminal or pay for the white glove delivery. Once you purchase it we will contact you to confirm all the details. We reserve the right to cancel a order if it is not within feasible perimeters.

 

How can I be sure it will arrive in excellent condition.

While it is impossible to cover all possible scenarios in life we are doing our best to cover for the probable situations. The furniture is being hand finished and looked over as it is being prepared for shipment. Each piece is then wrapped in foam and shrink wrapped. The pieces are then strapped down to the custom made shipping deck and shrink wrapped together. After the furniture is securely packaged a wood box is built around it to farther protect it from the trucking company possible carelessness.
